Grant Research for Small Nonprofits

Your organization is leaving grant money on the table.

Most small nonprofits know grants exist. They just don't have the time to find the right ones. Stonebrook Research delivers a curated set of matched grant opportunities specific to your organization. No database subscriptions. No hours lost to research.

The Problem

Grant databases give you data. Stonebrook gives you opportunities.

Most small nonprofits have one person doing the job of four. Grant research is the thing that always gets pushed to next week, until a deadline passes and the opportunity is gone. Existing database tools charge hundreds of dollars per month for access and still require hours of research, filtering, and reading to find anything worth pursuing. That's just a more expensive version of the same problem.

01
No dedicated grant staff

Small organizations where everyone wears multiple hats rarely have a dedicated development director. Fundraising falls to whoever has capacity, and grant research is always the first thing to slip.

02
Database tools require real work

Candid, Instrumentl, and similar tools surface thousands of grants. Filtering to the 8 that actually fit your mission and geography still takes 3–4 hours a quarter you don't have.

03
Missed deadlines compound

Most foundation grant cycles run annually. Miss a deadline once and you're waiting another year. The cost of not paying attention is measured in grant cycles lost, not just dollars.

How It Works

Stop researching. Start applying.

We handle the research, synthesis, and matching. You spend your time applying, not searching.

01
Tell us about your organization

A short intake form helps us dial in your search parameters: mission, geography, program focus, and funding history.

02
We research and match

We cross-reference your profile against active foundation programs, federal grants, and corporate giving initiatives, filtering down to your best-fit opportunities.

03
Your report is delivered

You receive a clean report with curated opportunities, match rationale, deadlines, and a prioritized action plan focused on what's most relevant right now.

04
Reports build on your history

For quarterly subscribers: as you share updates on what you've applied to, we remove those from future reports and flag when cycles re-open, so your report stays fresh rather than repeating itself.

How We Research

What goes into your report.

Most small nonprofits don't lose grants because they can't write. They lose them because they never find the right opportunities in the first place.

We built a research system that monitors active grant programs across foundation databases, federal portals, and corporate giving initiatives. When your report is assembled, it's matched against your intake profile: mission language, geography, program type, and budget range. What you receive reflects your organization specifically, not a generic list of grants that happen to exist.

Every report is reviewed before it reaches you. Opportunities are checked for current status, realistic eligibility, and fit with what you've told us about your work. If a deadline has closed or a program has paused, it doesn't make it into your report.

FAQ

Common questions.

Anything else? Email us at info@stonebrookresearch.com.

Do you write the grant applications too?
No. Stonebrook Research identifies and curates the opportunities. The actual writing is up to you. Think of us as the research arm, not the writing arm. If you need grant writing support, we're happy to point you toward resources.
Where do the grants come from? What sources do you use?
We pull from foundation databases, federal grant portals like Grants.gov, state and regional community foundation sites, and corporate giving programs. Every opportunity is checked for current status before it makes it into your report.
What if I've already applied to something in my report?
Just let us know. As you share updates on what you've applied to or ruled out, we remove those from future reports and flag when cycles re-open. For quarterly subscribers, this happens automatically each cycle.
What if nothing in the report is a good fit?
Let us know what missed and why. We'll adjust your profile and issue a revised report. Getting the match right is the whole point.
How do I cancel?
If you subscribed quarterly, email billing@stonebrookresearch.com at least 48 hours before your next billing date and we'll confirm the cancellation. If you purchased a single report, there's nothing to cancel.
